Wolin provided installation of a complete data center cooling system for two major cell phone carriers, including installation of nearly 1,000 combined feet of Chilled Water Supply and Return piping, two 20 Ton Computer Room Air Conditioning Units, two Chilled Water Fan Coil Units, a Heat Exchanger, and new pumps within Iowa State University’s Black Engineering Building. The new data center provides critical temperature control for servers tied to cell phone antenna systems in Jack Trice Stadium and Hilton Coliseum, designed to enhance the Iowa State Athletics game-day experience.

Close attention to detail was of utmost importance, as multiple timely tie-ins to the campus-wide chilled water system were completed as part of the project in the heat of summer.

The new dedicated chilled water supply and return loop is specifically metered to measure non-University consumption. The project was completed within a strict timeline to accommodate the 2014 football season.
